HABAGAT KA LANG....

The rain just won't stop. It's been 5 days of just complete downpour and almost the whole Luzon is covered by a ginormous cloud formation as if it disappeared from the satellite map.   Of course, when there's rain in the Philippines, it is almost automatic that floods will happen and it it did.  What's troubling is that PAG-ASA never mentioned of any typhoon or whatever developing, just the usual habagat (southwest monsoon).

But the rain won't stop that the incessant rain was comparable to Ondoy, if not worse.  And I thought we people have already learned about it three years ago.  Well, at least I saw an how the spread of information and in giving weather bulletins through social media have improved.  Unlike Ondoy though which rained for 12 hours non-stop, this habagat last for days even a week.  Experts say Ondoy was just a freak of nature, a signal number 1 typhoon with moderate wind but helluva rain, and will not happen again in what... 50 years.

I guess this is just how we Filipinos are. We may survived Ondoy but we didn't learn from it.  The garbage, the squatters in our waterways, even our government lackadaisical effort.

I remember some guy said, "The rains and storms are just act of nature, floods on the other hand is product of men."
