The Coach Spo Experience

I finally met the coach of my favorite NBA team, the Miami Heat, Coach Erik Spoelstra. Not only I was excited that he is the team's coach, but also because he is a fellow Filipino. I really am proud of him, how he started with the team as a video coordinator guy and climbed up the and took the reins from Hall of Fame coach Pat Riley, the patriarch, the Godfather of the Miami Heat.  Coach Spo, visited the Philippines for the third time already if I'm not mistaken and this time I had the opportunity to really meet the guy courtesy of NBA Philippines.  I actually won a Twitter contest which I get a chance for a Meet and Greet.

It was a once in a lifetime experience for me, as a long time Miami Heat fan.  After the Heat won an epic Finals agianst a great OKC Thunder team, Coach Spo not only came here in the Philippines but he also brought the Larry O'Brien Trophy with him!

I had to really sound like a fanboy here right now, but I really was ecstatic about meeting Coach Spo, a proud Filipino heritage.  Well I just hope when he comes back to the Philippines again, hopefully he could bring with him also not only the NBA Championship trophy, but at least one if not all the Big Three, or better yet, the whole Miami Heat team!  By the way, the Heat is playing a preseason game in China, so I hope that would be a step closer for the team to go here.

NBI Clearance in 10 Minutes

I am the type of person that usually research before going anywhere I wanted to go, so when the time I needed to renew my NBI clearance, I went to look for the fastest and the most convenient way to get it without the hassle of queuing and the waiting for hours just to get the damn thing.

Since the NBI has a new system, expect long lines and even longer hours of waiting even in the convenience of malls.

So most of my queries points me to go to Robinson's Otis in Paco, Manila. To get there, your landmark would be the U.N. Ave. Station of LTR1. There is a tricycle parking area nearby, but do not do the same mistake I made when I went to the other side of the station going towards the Ermita area. The tricycle station is right beside the Medical Center Manila. Don't ride those pedicabs because they will charge you  60 pesos.

I went to Robinson's Otis on a Saturday which is great as it was located inside a mall and they observe mall hours. They open at 10 AM they say, and closes at 7 in the evening. I went there at around 4 PM which I think was the best time as most of the people may have finished. When I got there I was surprised that its starting to close, but the guard says that the employees are still there but just closed some of the windows as they were no people transacting at that hour anymore. The Clearance Renewal Center was located at the 2nd floor. As I was the only one got there, I got my clearance in no time. They are using Biometrics system, so no more filthy fingers at the end although they still use the webcam for the picture taking. Local or Travel Abroad clearance cost 115 pesos still. Just bring a valid I.D and don't forget a pen. You don't want to bother other people by borrowing their pen.

They printed my clearance in 5 minutes since I don't have a "hit", I even had the time to chit chat with the people there. They say they accept 500 people a day.

What can I say? I never really followed American Idol Season 11 until it was down to 6. I've been seeing a trend in its past winners starting from David Cook, so I did get tired of watching the show.  But then they say that one of the finalist has a Filipino descent, so I started following it again, only to get robbed by another White Guy With Guitar. That sucks! Well I will let Hitler do the ranting for me.

My recent vacation back in my home town was a brief one (like the last time), so I haven't gone to many  places due to limited time. Besides it was really for my Lola's 80th birthday.  I got the chance to see my aunts too from abroad after quite some time.

Anyway, the nothing really change much of the city except for some weird jeepney routes. Oh, and there's the Boardwalk, I got to pass by there. It was really knucklehead move of me not to bring my prehistoric digicam. It was a nice place, calm.  From the Boardwalk I got to pass by the new road connecting Diversion and Tabucan. Wow, we have the Ateneo in there. I so happy for Mandurriao.  I felt like a stranger in my own place after so many years.

Maybe next time I come home, I'll stay more than a week. When I got back to Manila, darn it, they went out to the beach in Anhawan. Man I miss the beach so much, I wanna get off that plane.  Oh, the next couple of days, they went hiking in Antique. Waaaaa!! Kill me now.

45 Days of Happiness

It was a quick one, but we spent the very most of it. After a year or so, Beth came back home and I was very ecstatic about it. I've waited that much time just to be with her again. Even though it lasted only for 45 days, it was the happiest time for me. Having to be with her, spend time with her, make up for us being miles apart.  But now she had gone back to the land of sand. Its a thing I have to live and accept with because its for the best of us all. Now, i'll wait again for the time when I see her face at the airport. I will miss you, and thanks for everything.

Hello 2012!

The holidays are over. The never ending food actually ended, and the past year...well... is over and so we start anew.  'Twas a year to be remembered...not! Actually, I really did not liked 2011. Nothing really significant happened. I dunno, maybe it was just me not doing anything to make things happen.  I did have a lot of goals during that year, but they ended just wishes as nothing was accomplished.

And now I face 2012, another year, another beginning, oh and did I say another number just added to my age? Anyway, I won't expect much to this year, as the scum of the past year will still haunt me, and until I'm done with all that, then I can say that a new beginning will start. I won't make promises this 2012, but will try to make this year a lot better than 2011. That year really sucked for me. I dunno where I will start but hopefully Beth's coming home this February will shed some light. I am really looking forward to that day. Wow, it has really been a year, and it was fast. I could still remember the day we took her to the airport.

Okay, so I guess, I'll just have to clean out 2011's mess and move on, so help me God.


By the way, I do hope 2012 won't come up short and end at December 21. :)

Why does it have to be just me who has the artistic mind around the office? Every year, I'm tasked to do this, design this, make this... but hey, I'm not complaining or anything, 'cause I love doing this stuff, just to break away from the norm. I'm thinking though its either no one gives a crap to even bother doing this things and they are glad I'm on their team or they have full on believe in me. Either way, I'll take the damn task any time, even with a few back pain and lack of sleep issues after. For this year, I made this. It's not much, I have to cram it in 2 days.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY NG INA MO!

Maski indi ka na anad, maski na kornihan ako kag makornihan man kamo, maski isa lang ka adlaw.... kup'an mo si nanay mo subong nga adlaw. LIFE LESSONS

  Isa ka adlaw, ang mga parte sg lawas naga debate kung sin'o ang pinaka importante na part para mag lead and maging in-charge.
 
  Ang una nga nag hambal ang utok. Hambal nya, ako dapat and pinaka importante tungod kung indi sa akon, indi kamo tanan mag andar. Ako ang naga process sa inyo tanan.
 
  Nag object ang mata, hambal nya, panu mo ka mag work kung wala ako sg may gina hatag sa imo nga impormasyon paagi sa mga nakita ko? Ako ang mas importante, gani ako dapat ang in-charge.
 
  Nagsaligbat man ang kamot. Kami dapat ang in-charge, kung wala kami, wala kamo sg may mahimo kag makaptan.

  Nag intra man tyan (stomach). It states that nga kung wala sg may naga tunaw sg mga pagkaon para mag convert sa energy, indi kamo tanan makahino mag function.

  Then finally, from downstairs, nag singgit ang tiil, panu kamo maka halin kung wala kami? You won't go anywhere without us.

  So a rowdy argument took place. Everyone claims they are important wanting to be in-charge. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, the bunghole (karipunat), timidly butts in. "Could I be in charge?" Everyone looked at him and laughed. "What could you possibly do? You're not important! You're nothing but an arse."
So the butthole just quieted down and just closes it self.

  After the a while, ang tiil naging wobbly; and mga kamot naging numb; and tyan naging bloated and cannot digest; and mata blurry; and the brain is useless because nothing goes to him.

MORAL:  You don't have to be the most important person in your company to be up there, you just have to be an ASSHOLE.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW, AN UPDATE!

For the longest time, wala ko na gina sapak ang ini nga blog. Daw na dulaan na abi ako gana. Indi ko sigurado kung nadulaan gid man ko gana or wala lang gid ako sg tyempo para mag sulat or siguro wala lang gid ako sg may maisulat. (dugang mo pa nga wala ako computer of my own)

I'm struggling whether islan ko ang akon media from Ilonggo to either Tagalog or English. If I wanted a wide range of audience, either I'll go with Tagalog and/or English. But you know what, screw it, what the heck, why not do all three. I don't want a larger audience anyway. I'm not here to be popular or make money. I just want to have something to vent my shit out.

Recently, I put up a sports blog. I'm such a sports guy that I want to do a separate blog for it. Tani lang indi mag pareho diri nga kung san'o ko lang ma dumduman mag update. Well, at least sa sports, there's always happening compared sa miserable life ko.

Anyways, siguro kinahanglan lang sg blog ko makeover, a change of scenery kung baga, para daw encouraging man bala magsulat haw.

Daw galawig na ni haw. By the way, I recently got a camera from my Tita Pin. It's secondhand but it fond of it. Wala ko pa matesting sa outside world though. Pwede na maski secondhand at least may ara diba ( tani sa sunod ang laptop ko naman courtesy of my Tita Mers), para I could do some other dimension to add diri sa blog and di na ko kinahanglan mag import sg pics from other sources.

So daw wala na man ko may na idugang pa nga mapuslan. I just hope I can keep up with this. I'll start by renovating this blog. Hopefully this could restart this whole thing.

LAUGH DENGUE AWAY

Take it from me, kung isa sa inyo pinalangga get afflicted with the deadly dengue, you better get yourselves a bunch of tawa-tawa.

Ang recent outbreak sg dengue kung sa diin halos 90,000 ang kaso nga reported plagued the whole country.  Pero sg pati ang GF go gindalitan, I though it's time to try the effectiveness sg mga herbal stuff. Medically, rehydration is the only recommendation sg hospital. Pero gusto ko ma speed up and recovery so naginta ako sa internet sg the best remedy. It gave me two words, actually just one,gin doble lang (you know what I mean): TAWA-TAWA.

Tawa-Tawa (Euphorbia Hirta) or Asthma Weed

Gin feature pa ni gani sa news (24 Oras) stating it is the most effective way to rise up the platelet count which is the main indicator sg dengue. Pero symepre ang medical field advised against using it kag gina question nila ang effectiveness nga kung sabagay may ara scientific proof nga gapataas gid man sg tawa-tawa ang platelets.

The only logic I can think of kung ngaa ga'oppose sila sa pag usar sg mga herbal remedies is that ma'apektuhan ang kita sg mga pharmaceutical companies nga kung sa diin ang mga hospital gets their commissions by promoting their drugs.

Anyway, ang problema ko is that my GF won't take the tawa-tawa tea straight up because of the not so good taste, even I would agree; and it was recommended pa to take 3-4 ka baso sg tea kada adlaw (pukes). I wondered if they have it in tablet or capsule form. And voila! The old trusted Google popped up that some stalls in Tiendesitas actually sells tawa-tawa capsules. So I rush there and got my self a bottle (30 caps) for 200php.

After two days of 4-6 caps daily, her platelet rockets back to normal; from low 100s up to mid 200s. 

So the next time dengue strikes back, better have those weeds ready..

Hmm I haven't anything about the Holidays, but gimme a break.. Its vacation.. Anyways, enjoy the rest of the season.. Looking forward for another year..

Oo bal'an ko dugay na ini, nag file na reklamo ang gobyerno ta parte diri nga kuno this is degrading or a form of insult to the Filipino race.  Kay kuno ang chocolate reflect ang mentalidad sg mga Pinoy, "brown on the outside, white on the inside," how we are trying to pretend as Americans (white) even though lain ang kolor ta sa ila.

   Over the weekend, samtang ang tanan ara naga pila sa sinehan para sa premiere sg New Moon, ako ya sa tubang Internet (wala kwarta pang sine). Pero samtang naga browse ako, I came across a very good news. Si Efren Peñaflorida ang nag daog sa CNN Heroes Award.
